Steiner is a mild, buttery, putty cheese made from raw cow's milk.

The milk for the small cheese, which bears the name of the cheese-making family, comes from the farm's own cows, of which there are only 15. The cows, which grow up in the South Tyrol region, are fed on pasture in the summer and hay in the winter.

The cheese matures for at least 5 weeks. The rind is washed, the color of a typical putty cheese is orange; the paste is soft and velvety smooth. The taste is elegant, fragrant and long-lasting; a classic soft mountain cheese!

Pair with an oaky white wine or a good steak. Try it on a cheese platter with grapes.
