General Terms and Conditions

Effective from 1.7.2026.

1. Scope

These General Terms and Conditions apply to orders placed by consumers through the online shop operated by Rolling Cheese Oy.

By using the online shop and placing an order, the customer accepts these Terms and Conditions. The version in force at the time the order is placed applies to the order.

Mandatory consumer protection legislation applies in addition to these Terms and Conditions. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions conflicts with mandatory law, the mandatory law will prevail.

2. Seller’s details

Seller:

Rolling Cheese Oy
Business ID: 3192789-6
Museokatu 20–22
00100 Helsinki
Finland

Email: info@rollingcheese.fi
Telephone: +358 50 539 5067

Telephone customer service is available from Tuesday to Saturday between 10.00 and 20.00, excluding public holidays and any exceptional opening hours separately announced on the website.

3. Products and product information

The principal characteristics, prices, package sizes and other information concerning the products are presented on the product pages of the online shop.

Rolling Cheese takes reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, images, availability information and prices are accurate. Product images are, however, illustrative. Handmade, cut-to-order and naturally variable products may differ in appearance, size, weight, colour and shape between batches.

The customer must review the ingredients, allergens, storage instructions and instructions for use before consuming or using a product. Information provided in the online shop does not replace the information shown on the product packaging. If the information in the online shop differs from the information on the packaging, the customer should follow the packaging information and, where necessary, contact Rolling Cheese before using the product.

Product availability may vary. Displaying a product in the online shop does not guarantee that it will remain available when the order is processed.

4. Prices

All consumer prices are stated in euros (€) and include the applicable value-added tax.

Prices in the online shop and at the Rolling Cheese physical shop may differ. The price displayed in the online shop at the time the order is placed applies to an online order. Prices offered at the physical shop do not apply to orders placed through the online shop.

Online shop prices take into account the costs associated with operating the online shop and processing, picking, checking, packing and administering online orders.

No separate handling, invoicing or similar additional fee is charged for online orders. Product prices, any applicable delivery charges and the total price of the order are shown to the customer before the order is confirmed.

Where a price displayed in the online shop is manifestly incorrect and the customer should reasonably have understood that it was incorrect, Rolling Cheese is not required to supply the product at the incorrect price. Rolling Cheese will notify the customer of the error without undue delay and refund any payment already made.

5. Placing an order and formation of the contract

The customer places a binding order by confirming it at the online checkout using a button that clearly indicates the associated obligation to pay, such as “Pay now”.

Before confirming the order, the customer is given an opportunity to review and correct the order information.

After placing the order, the customer receives an order confirmation by email containing the principal details of the order. The customer should check the confirmation and notify Rolling Cheese of any errors as soon as possible.

Rolling Cheese may decline an order for a justified reason, including where:

  • a product is unavailable;

  • a product price or description is manifestly incorrect;

  • payment cannot be successfully completed;

  • the order cannot be delivered to the stated address or at the selected time; or

  • there are reasonable grounds to suspect misuse or fraud.

Where a paid order cannot be accepted or fulfilled, Rolling Cheese will notify the customer and refund the payment without undue delay.

6. Payment methods

The available payment methods are displayed at checkout. Payment is charged when the order is placed unless otherwise stated in connection with the chosen payment method.

Payment services may be provided by a third-party payment service provider used by Rolling Cheese. The payment service provider’s own terms may also apply.

No separate fee will be charged for a payment method unless the fee is clearly disclosed before the order is confirmed and is permitted by law.

7. Delivery methods, delivery area and delivery charges

Available delivery methods may include:

  • home delivery;

  • another delivery method displayed at checkout; and

  • collection from the Rolling Cheese physical shop.

The available delivery methods, delivery times and delivery charges depend on factors such as the delivery address, postcode, products ordered and selected delivery time. The available options and their prices are displayed at checkout before the order is confirmed.

Home delivery charges start from €9.90. The final delivery charge applicable to the order is displayed at checkout before the order is confirmed.

Delivery is available only within the delivery areas defined in the online shop. The customer may check availability by entering their postcode in the online shop or by contacting Rolling Cheese.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that the name, contact details and address provided are accurate and sufficient for delivery.

8. Delivery time and receipt of the order

The customer selects an available delivery or collection time at checkout.

A stated delivery time is an estimate unless a specific delivery time has expressly been agreed as binding. Rolling Cheese will notify the customer without undue delay of any material delay.

The customer or a person authorised by the customer must be available to receive the order at the agreed delivery time. Products requiring refrigeration must be placed in appropriate cold storage immediately after receipt.

Where delivery fails for a reason attributable to the customer, such as an incorrect address, insufficient contact information or the customer not being available at the agreed time, Rolling Cheese may charge the reasonable and actual costs of arranging a new delivery. Redelivery of perishable products may not be possible.

A collection order must be collected at the agreed time or within the period separately notified by Rolling Cheese. If collection is delayed, the customer should contact Rolling Cheese as soon as possible. Rolling Cheese cannot guarantee the quality of perishable products after the agreed collection time where the delay is attributable to the customer.

9. Availability and missing products

If an ordered product is unavailable or cannot otherwise be supplied, Rolling Cheese will, where reasonably possible, contact the customer.

A product will not be substituted without the customer’s consent. If the customer cannot be reached or no substitution is agreed, the unavailable product will not be supplied and the amount paid for it will be refunded.

10. Right of withdrawal

10.1 General 14-day right of withdrawal

A consumer generally has the right to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason within 14 days.

For goods, the withdrawal period ends 14 days after the customer, or a third party named by the customer other than the carrier, receives the goods. If goods included in the same order are delivered separately, the withdrawal period begins when the final item is received.

The right of withdrawal applies only to products covered by the statutory right of withdrawal. Exceptions concerning food and other products are set out in section 10.2.

10.2 Exceptions to the right of withdrawal

The right of withdrawal does not apply to products that are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly or whose quality may deteriorate rapidly due to their nature. These include fresh and refrigerated cheeses, cured meats and other perishable food products.

The right of withdrawal also does not apply to:

  • products made or modified to the customer’s specifications or clearly personalised;

  • sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons once the seal has been broken; or

  • another product or contract falling within a statutory exception to the right of withdrawal.

Merely returning a product or failing to collect an order does not constitute a notice of withdrawal.

10.3 Exercising the right of withdrawal

To exercise the right of withdrawal, the customer must send Rolling Cheese an unequivocal notice before the withdrawal period expires.

The customer may submit the notice:

  • through the electronic withdrawal function provided in the online shop;

  • by using the withdrawal form available in the online shop; or

  • by sending an unequivocal notice by email to info@rollingcheese.fi.

The notice must contain sufficient information to identify the customer and the relevant order.

Rolling Cheese will acknowledge receipt of a withdrawal notice submitted electronically in a durable form, such as by email.

10.4 Returning products

Where a product is subject to the right of withdrawal, the customer must return it without undue delay and no later than 14 days after submitting the withdrawal notice.

The return should be agreed with Rolling Cheese in advance. The return address is:

Rolling Cheese Oy
Museokatu 20–22
00100 Helsinki
Finland

The customer bears the direct cost of returning the product unless Rolling Cheese has agreed to bear that cost.

The product must be packed carefully. The customer is responsible only for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the product.

10.5 Refunds following withdrawal

Where the customer validly withdraws from the contract, Rolling Cheese will refund the payments received from the customer to the extent required by law, without undue delay and no later than 14 days after receiving the withdrawal notice.

Rolling Cheese may withhold the refund until it has received the returned product or the customer has provided evidence of having sent it back, whichever occurs first.

Refunds will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction unless otherwise expressly agreed with the customer. The customer will not incur a fee as a result of the refund.

Where the customer selected a delivery method other than the least expensive standard delivery method offered by Rolling Cheese, the additional delivery cost will not be refunded.

11. Statutory liability for defects and complaints

Rolling Cheese is responsible for defects in products in accordance with the Finnish Consumer Protection Act.

A product may be defective, for example, if it does not correspond to what was agreed, is not fit for its intended purpose, is unsafe or differs materially from information provided to the customer.

Natural variation, appropriate maturation or a characteristic disclosed to the customer before purchase does not in itself constitute a defect.

The customer should inspect the delivery as soon as reasonably possible after receipt. A defect concerning a perishable or refrigerated product should be reported as soon as possible after it is discovered so that the defect and condition of the product can be reliably assessed.

Where possible, a complaint should include:

  • the order number;

  • the product concerned;

  • a description of the defect;

  • when the defect was discovered; and

  • where relevant, photographs of the product, packaging and date or batch information.

Complaints may be sent to info@rollingcheese.fi.

The customer’s statutory rights are not restricted merely because the complaint could not be made immediately or the customer could not provide photographs.

A defect will be remedied or compensated for in accordance with applicable consumer protection legislation. Depending on the circumstances, the available remedy may be repair or replacement or, where the statutory requirements are met, a price reduction or termination of the contract.

The customer should agree with Rolling Cheese on the return of a defective product or other arrangements before sending the product. Rolling Cheese bears the reasonable cost of an approved return of a defective product.

12. Transport damage and inspection of delivery

If a delivery or product has been damaged in transit, the customer should notify Rolling Cheese as soon as possible.

The customer is requested to retain the damaged product and packaging while the matter is investigated and, where possible, provide photographs of the damage.

This request does not restrict the customer’s statutory consumer rights.

13. Gift cards

A Rolling Cheese gift card is valid for the period stated on the gift card or when it is purchased.

A gift card may be used at the Rolling Cheese physical shop or online shop as stated in connection with the gift card. Any restrictions on use and the treatment of any remaining balance will be displayed when the gift card is purchased or used.

A gift card cannot be exchanged for cash unless required by mandatory law. A lost or stolen gift card will not be replaced where the card or its unused balance cannot be reliably identified and protected against misuse.

The validity period of a gift card is not extended automatically. Any extension must be agreed with Rolling Cheese before the gift card expires.

The terms disclosed when the gift card is purchased apply to the gift card.

14. Processing of personal data

Rolling Cheese processes customers’ personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation and the privacy notice published on the website.

Information necessary to fulfil an order may be disclosed to payment and delivery service providers to the extent required to process and deliver the order.

15. Force majeure

Rolling Cheese is not responsible for a delay or failure to perform an obligation to the extent caused by an unforeseeable event beyond its reasonable control that it could not reasonably have avoided or overcome.

Such an event may include a significant transport disruption, an order by a public authority, a widespread electricity or telecommunications outage, industrial action, an exceptional natural event or another comparable circumstance.

Rolling Cheese will notify the customer of the event and its effects without undue delay. This section does not restrict the customer’s rights under mandatory consumer protection legislation.

16. Changes to these Terms and Conditions

Rolling Cheese may amend these Terms and Conditions. Amendments apply to orders placed after the amended terms enter into force.

An order already placed is governed by the Terms and Conditions in force when the order was placed unless mandatory law requires otherwise.

17. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms and Conditions and contracts concluded through the online shop are governed by Finnish law. This choice of law does not deprive a consumer of mandatory consumer protection rights available under the law of the consumer’s country of habitual residence.

Any dispute should first be addressed through negotiations between the customer and Rolling Cheese.

A consumer residing in Finland may contact the Consumer Advisory Services of the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority if the matter cannot be resolved:

www.kuluttajaneuvonta.fi

If the matter cannot be resolved through negotiations or with the assistance of the Consumer Advisory Services, the consumer may refer it to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board:

www.kuluttajariita.fi

The consumer also has the right to bring the matter before a competent court in accordance with mandatory legislation.
