Since 2004, Hervé Lanouguère has been creating artisan cookies and cakes at his boulangerie in Okina, Idaux-Mendy, in the Soule region, in the heart of the French Basque Country. Hervé creates sublime Soule cookies using ingredients from the Pays Basque, from traditional Ossau Iraty sheep's milk cheese to Espelette chili peppers.
Okina Bakery's bite-sized savory cookies are rich and delicious – and quite addictive. Made simply with wheat flour, cheese, butter, milk, sugar and salt, you won't be able to resist these little cookies!
Okina are delicious on their own, with your favorite wine, or dipped in black cherry jam!
