Follow the old Via del Sale, the Salt Route, on a journey from the Ligurian coast all the way to the hills of the Langhe, with a table filled with some of the region’s finest delicacies.

Matilde and Edoardo Rinaldi will guide us along the historic route that once connected the Ligurian coast with inland Piemonte. Olive oil, salt and anchovies travelled north from the coast, while Piemonte offered wine, grains, meat and other products from the inland regions.

This was also the route travelled by Alfredo Rinaldi, founder of the Rinaldi family business, almost a century ago. Oils and other products sourced in Liguria made their way back with him to Piemonte.

During the evening, we’ll fill the table with a generous feast-style spread of Meriggio and Rinaldi family products alongside classic flavours from Liguria and Piemonte. Expect pasta, cheeses, charcuterie, olive oil and other local delicacies – food made to be shared around the table and enjoyed slowly.

Matilde and Edoardo will share stories about the products and the people behind them, their family history, and the food culture of Liguria and Piemonte.

And of course, wine is part of the journey too. Three pours of wines from Liguria and Piemonte will be served alongside the feast, each chosen to complement the dishes.
